Building An Appropriate Wholesale Fashion Jewelry Inventory

America's leading news source, MSNBC, just put out a report today that confirmed suspicions of a trend that's sweeping over the United States. "Budget-minded brides seeking deals." According to the report, rising costs of American weddings are prompting couples "to be" (and their financial cohorts) to seek alternative, low-cost solutions for what would otherwise be a costly event. "Snubbing high-end florists, caterers, wedding boutiques and even jewelers in favor of bigger bargains at places like Target, Costco and Wal-Mart," engaged couples represent a percentage of our more cost-aware population.
 
We're not quite ready to ditch the florist and caterer just yet, but we are seeing a growing interest in wholesale fashion jewelry. And despite what you may have heard, recent studies surrounding wholesale fashion jewelry reveal that cost plays a significant role in today's consumer behavior. There could be no better time than the present to strike up an investment in wholesale fashion jewelry - if not for profit, than for something a little different at the least.
 
But buyer beware. The wholesale fashion jewelry business does not come without warning. Its low cost may inadvertently give you or your retailers the wrong impression of poor quality or tawdriness when nothing could be further from the truth. Today's wholesale fashion jewelry is of such high quality that it rivals even the adornment of Queen Elizabeth. And recently, wholesale rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings have returned from its theatrical past to create a new look amongst those who seemingly recreate the current style every year.
 
The illusion that wholesale fashion jewelry is poor quality or tawdry wear is erroneous at best and it's our past interpretation or experience with their early efforts that make us doubt the value that they've come to hold today. Most of the time, this misinterpretation is brought about by ignorance, but after a thorough introduction to the fine quality that they possess, it's easy to understand why it has made such an impacting comeback.
 
As a wholesale fashion jewelry distributor, you must be careful not to let your emotions or past impressions prevent you from building the high-quality inventory that your retailers be proud to display and sell in their shops. That may be easier said than done, but it's a critical behavior that you must practice until you can make qualitative business decisions, rather than personal ones. The end result will be a successful wholesale business that's filled with a profitable inventory.
 
Perhaps the most difficult part of building such an inventory of wholesale fashion jewelry is understanding that the inventory does not necessarily belong to you - it belongs to the people who will purchase from your retailers. Once this perspective is understood and appreciated, selecting appropriate pieces for your inventory becomes second nature, for you will at once see your inventory through the eyes of your retailers.
 
Does this mean that you can't or shouldn't include a few favorite styles here and there? Of course not. You are always free to experiment with new items and track the results to find out which products work best as long as you keep your retailers in mind.
